Each reward generates a unique Shopify discount code that members can redeem at checkout.
Loyalty supports the following reward types:
Fixed amount discount
Fixed monetary value off an order subtotal.Percentage discount
Percentage off an order subtotal.Free shipping
Removes shipping costs from an order.Free product
Allows members to redeem points for a specific Shopify product.
Rewards and benefits
Rewards and benefits offer different ways to recognize loyalty members.
Rewards require members to redeem points.
Benefits are available automatically when members meet eligibility requirements, such as belonging to a specific tier.
For example:
A reward might give a member $5 off a purchase.
A benefit might grant early access to sales or priority support.

How rewards work
When a member redeems any reward:
The required points are deducted from their balance.
A unique discount code is generated.
The member applies the code at checkout.
If your program uses membership tiers, you can set different point requirements for each tier.
Reward settings
Every reward includes the following settings:
Status
Enable or disable the reward.Name
The name shown in your storefront loyalty content.
Maximum length: 255 characters. The name is used in the content blocks in your Shopify store which display the reward.Image (optional)
Displays in storefront loyalty content. Accepted file types are JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, and GIF. The recommended image ratio is 5:3 and the maximum file size is 20 MB.Discount code prefix
You can use an optional Discount code prefix. Optional text displayed at the beginning of generated discount codes.
Prefix must not exceed five characters and can’t contain spaces. For example, if your store name is The Best Company, my discount code prefix might be TBCO.
Free product
Let members redeem their points for a specific product from your Shopify store.
The product is added to their cart automatically, and a discount code worth the product’s full price makes it free.
How free product rewards work
When a member redeems this reward:
Their points are deducted immediately.
A discount code is generated worth the product’s current price.
The selected product is added to their cart automatically.
Redemption is blocked if the product is out of stock.
The discount applies only to that product, and only to one item.
Free product reward limitations
Free product rewards have the following limitations:
If the product price changes in Shopify, the discount value does not update automatically.
Abandoned carts do not automatically refund points.
If the member does not complete their purchase, points are not refunded automatically. To return points, you can adjust the member’s points manually in the loyalty app.
