Unlike other point rules, a Custom point rule doesn't run automatically. The rule defines how many points members earn, while Shopify Flow determines when points are awarded.

Create the rule
Go to Program > Rules.
Select Add point rule.
Select Custom, then select Add.
Configure the rule settings:
Turn Status on to make the rule active immediately, or leave it off to activate the rule later.
Enter a name for the rule.
Upload an image if you want to display one in your Shopify storefront or use it through the Loyalty API.
Configure the Active period:
For Start date, select Right now or choose a future date and time.
For End date, select No end date or choose when the rule should end automatically.
Select Save rule.
Configure the custom rule
Open the Custom rule you created.
Copy the Rule ID.
Use the Rule ID in the Earn points action in Shopify Flow.

When Shopify Flow triggers the Custom rule, Loyalty awards the configured number of points to the member.
