The Self-referral guard checkout extension validates referral activity during checkout and helps protect your referral program from self-referrals. When installed, the extension runs during the Shopify checkout.
How it works
The Self-referral guard checkout extension adds an additional validation step during checkout.
If a referral order doesn't meet the referral program requirements, the referral reward isn't awarded.
Add the Self-referral guard checkout extension
In Shopify admin, go to Settings > Checkout.
Under Configurations, select Edit.
In the Checkout editor, select Apps.
Under All, select the + icon next to Self-referral guard checkout extension.
Confirm that the extension appears in the checkout preview.
Select Save.
Verify your setup
Open the Checkout editor.
Select Apps.
Confirm that Self-referral guard checkout extension appears in the checkout preview.
Select Save if you make any changes.
